“3D Stock Car Championship” is a racing retro game where up to four players can compete in a championship on 24 different tracks. Players must qualify to determine their starting position before each race and then participate in the race itself. The goal of the game is to score the highest number of points after the 24th race and become the champion in stock cars.

The game features eight forward gears, and players can accelerate only up to the maximum speed for the current gear. Quick presses of the accelerator pedal allow players shift gears up or down depending on whether they are accelerating or braking. If a player continues to brake after reaching zero speed, the car starts moving in reverse.

“3D Stock Car Championship” offers thrilling races and the opportunity to compete with friends in multiplayer mode.

Loading

1. Connect a suitable cassette player to your Spectrum according to the User Manual, THEN FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS 3, 4 AND 5 BELOW.

SPECTRUM 48/128 and PLUS 2 OWNERS

2. Put the 48/128 and Plus 2 systems into 48K mode.

3. Place the rewound cassette into the cassette player.

4. Type LOAD “” on your Spectrum and press ENTER.

5. Press PLAY on the cassette player.

Playing the game

Up to four players can compete (Interface II only) in the championship, racing cars around 24 different circuits. On each circuit the players must first compete for grid position in the qualifying period before competing in the actual race. When the lights turn green the race is on. The player with the most points after the 24th race is the stock car champion. Select the method of control for each of the four cars by using keys A and Q to choose the car number (1-4) and W and S to select the controls from the following options.

Each car has eight forward gears; you may only accelerate to the top level of speed for the gear you are in. A quick on/off of the accelerator changes gear up or down depending, respectively, upon whether you are accelerating or braking. You start to reverse when continuing to brake after your speed has reached zero.

Computer Control: Use E and D to select level (1-15).

Unwanted: Select this option for each car that is not required.

Sound Simulation (car 1 only): Press T for on and G for off.

Number of Laps: Use R and F to select (1-99) for each race.

Instruction Summary: Press I.

Start: Press P.

Options are indicated by inverse type.

Use SYMBOL SHIFT and SPACE to cut short the qualifying period of the race.

Use SYMBOL SHIFT, SPACE and M to quite the game and return to the title page.
