“Pssst” is an exciting retro game where you play as a robot named Robbie, who must protect his garden from destructive insects. You will need to use special sprays to kill the insects and prevent damage to the plants. It is essential to correctly determine which spray is suitable for each insect to get rid of it permanently. Be careful, as choosing the wrong spray will only temporarily stun the insects. Make sure to keep an eye on your plant, or else the insects will eat it and it will die. Apply your skills and strategy to emerge victorious!

Robbie the robot sits in his garden, fetching the old bag of compost to help his prize Thyrgodian Megga Chrisanthodil grow. Then suddenly the whole garden is invaded by the most devilish, destructive insects you could imagine. But Robbie is prepared!

Equipped with three spray cans of the latest insect repellent, smoke and streamers, Robbie fights to keep the deadly garden pests at bay.

All he has to do is figure out which spray kills each insect outright, as the wrong spray will only stun them momentarily. If Robbie leaves his plant unattended the insects will swarm all over it, eat the leaves and the plant will wilt and die.

Growing instructions

Plant the seeds in good soil. Growth can be speeded up by collecting all compost bags, keeping young shoots free from all garden pests and by looking after the leaves, which collect sunlight. Remember, the more leaves the plant has, the faster it will grow. As the young shoots give off an exotic aroma, the plant is especially attractive to hoards of Interstellar Space Slugs, Scuttling Leeches and Menacing Midges. Use of correct repellants will prevent all of these attacks.

Please note: only approximately 20% of all plants will blossom and reveal Robbie’s ultimate dream. Growing time approximately 2 to 5 minutes.

Pssst loading instructions

1. Connect the EAR socket on your Spectrum to the EAR socket on your recorder and ensure the MIC lead is disconnected.

2. Place the cassette tape in the recorder with the labelled side uppermost and rewind to the beginning.

3. Type either LOAD “PSSST” or LOAD “” and then press the ENTER key.

Note: Do not leave a space between the quotation marks.

LOAD is obtained by pressing the J key.

The ” are obtained by pressing the SYMBOL SHIFT and P keys together.

4. Press PLAY on the cassette recorder.

5. PSSST will now load automatically and a message will appear on the screen after several seconds. If loading is unsuccessful, rewind the cassette, adjust the VOLUME control on the recorder and try again.

NOTE: Full loading instructions can be found in your Spectrum manual.

6. PLAY THE GAME.

For better sound effects you can increase the volume by connecting the MIC socket on your recorder to the MIC socket on your Spectrum. Disconnect the EAR lead, remove the cassette tape from the recorder and press the PLAY button, the sound may be amplified through the loudspeaker of the recorder.

Robert the robot is standing in his garden, carrying the old bag of potting soil to help his favourite Madagascar Apipistra grow, when suddenly the whole garden is invaded by the most diabolical devouring insects imaginable. But Robertse is ready.

Armed with three cans of the latest insecticides: repellent, smoke, and liquid, Robert shoots to defeat the deadly pests in his garden.

All he has to do is to determine for each insect the bomb that will kill it radically. An unsuitable insecticide will only stun it momentarily. If Robert leaves his plant undefended, the insects will invade it, eat the leaves, and the plant will wither and die.

Growing instructions

Plant the seeds in good soil. Growth can be accelerated by collecting all the bags of potting soil, keeping the young shoots free of all garden pests, and watching the leaves, which receive sunlight. Note that the more leaves the plant has, the faster it grows. As the young shoots have an exotic scent, the plant is particularly attractive to hordes of space slugs, large mouth flies and Jupiter worms. The use of the correct insecticide should ward off all their attacks.

Note: only about 20% of all plants flower and reveal Robert’s final dream. Growth takes about 2-5 minutes.

1. Connect the EAR jack on your Spectrum to the headphone jack on your tape deck, and make sure the MIC cord is disconnected.

2. Place the tape in the recorder, label side up, and rewind.

3. Type LOAD “PSSST” or LOAD “” and press ENTER.

Note: Do not leave spaces between the inverted commas. LOAD is obtained by pressing the J key. ” is obtained by pressing the P and SYMBOL SHIFT keys at the same time.

4. Start playback on the tape recorder.

5. “PSSST” will now load automatically, and a message will appear on the screen after a few seconds. If loading is not possible, rewind the tape, change the volume setting on the tape recorder, and try again.

6. Play

Armé de trois bombes des plus récents insecticides: répulsif, fumigène, et liquide, Robert tire pour mettre en échec les parasites mortels pour son jardin.

Tout ce qu’il a à faire est de déterminer pour chaque insecte, la bombe qui va le tuer radicalement. En effet, un insecticide inadapté ne fait que l’étourdir momentanément. Si Robert laisse sa plante sans défense, les insectes vont l’envahir, en dévorer les feuilles, et la plante va se faner et mourir.

Instructions de culture

Planter les semences dans de la bonne terre.
